Matata is a daring young boy who believes that success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable. He is the last born in a family of four. His parents are unemployed and largely depend on subsistence farming, which has been negatively affected by frequent severe droughts. Most of the rural roads in his village are very impassable and this has pushed him towards achieving his dream of becoming an engineer. Since Matata was a young boy, he has always liked playing football not only at home but also in school and he was the goalkeeper for his school team.

After the death of her father shortly after her birth in 2010, Lilian's mother who was a teenager by that time has struggled with manual and menial jobs to provide for her. She needs financial support to continue having a good livelihood and education.

Eugene's father abandoned them with their mother having no source of income and being reduced to begging and working manual and menial jobs to live. He needs help continuing with his education.

Both Richard's parents had HIV/AIDS and no meaningful employment or source of income. Richard needs help to continue with his studies after losing both of his parents last year. He loves school

Elvis is the last born in a family of two. His mother is a single mom. Elvis lives with his aunt while his mother is busy looking for casual jobs to sustain the family. Despite the challenges he faced during his primary education, he managed to score exemplary marks. His dream to become a doctor to treat the sick in his village has been his driving force. Elvis likes to play football during his free time and he believes that hard work will never go unrewarded.

Leah's parents are in the latter stages of HIV and therefore unable to work and provide for her. She needs help continuing with her education.

Carlos is a handicapped child. Because of his disability, his father abandoned him and his mother shortly after birth. His mother does not have any meaningful source of income and depends on well wishers to cater for him. He needs help continuing with his education.
